The Importance Of The Written Contract Between Client and Attorney

This post was made by a person working for an Orlando Attorney. If you’d like to contact him or his law firm please contact us.

Too many times people will hire the wrong attorney and will suffer greatly for it.  There are attorneys out there who chose this field because of their desire to help others, not harm them.  A good lawyer will be on top of the cases they’ve taken on.  They will have respect for their clients.  Ask around for recommendations.  If a lawyer is good, people will not hesitate to give them praise.  If they are bad, they will let you know.  Ask for referrals to find a good lawyer who will handle your situation with care, respect and timeliness.  Always ask for a clear breakdown of what their fee covers so both will know what to expect from the other.

Some attorneys will take on cases from others who have left their attorney due to being unhappy with the way they were treated.  Had they inquired with others for a referral they may have avoided such a mess.  Good attorneys will take on these messy cases, though it’s much easier to start on a case fresh with your new Orlando lawyer.

One of the main reasons that attorneys are fired by their clients is failure to offer a written contract.   Many people won’t think to even ask for one.  They pay the retainer trusting the attorney will properly  handle the case.  Often it is after significant time and nothing being done that the client will withdraw and seek other counsel.  Always ask for a written contract from an attorney.  A quality lawyer will always offer one in the first place.  Never give money for a retainer without the contract, then only pay  if you agree to the terms.  Attorney’s contracts are negotiable and both parties should fully agree before signing on with them.
